How Far In Advance Should You Book a Wedding Venue?

How Far in Advance Should You Book a Wedding Venue?

When you’re in the early stages of planning your wedding, one of the biggest decisions is choosing your venue. But it’s so much more than just picking a beautiful place to celebrate – choosing the right venue will also set the tone for your entire day and become the place where incredible memories were made.

The best wedding venues in the country, including the award-winning Froyle Park, need to be booked with plenty of time in advance… but just how far in advance should you be booking your chosen wedding venue?

How Far in Advance to Book a Wedding Venue

We recommend that you book your wedding venue 12 to 18 months in advance of the big day. This tends to give you the best chance of securing your preferred date, particularly during the peak months which in the UK run between May and September.

At Froyle Park, some dates (especially summer Saturdays) will be booked up well over a year in advance. If you wish to explore potential dates with us, please get in touch as soon as possible.

If you’ve always imagined a warm July wedding celebration on our manicured lawns, or a spring ceremony with our iconic Cherry Blossom tree in full bloom, getting in early is key. Booking with us as early as possible also gives you more flexibility-  and not just with the date, but with also with suppliers.

What If You’re Booking Later?

However, not every couple will have the luxury of a long engagement to give them a lot of time in advance to plan their wedding. If you’re planning your day within a shorter timeframe and don’t have a lot of time far in advance to book a wedding venue, we could help you.

At Froyle Park, we occasionally have last-minute availability, and weekday weddings can offer a beautiful, more relaxed experience. Often there’s more availability with suppliers too, so you could could bag that dream photographer or sought-after florist.

Also sadly, it’s not unheard of for cancellations and when that happens, we can often contact a couple on our waiting list who wish to bring a wedding date forward.

Concerns You Might Be Having

If you’re hesitating, you’re not alone. Booking a venue far in advance is a big commitment, and it’s normal to have questions.

What if our guest list changes? At Froyle Park, our spaces are wonderfully versatile – from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations for 300. We’ll work with you to make sure your day fits just right.

What if the date we want is already taken? We’ll always try to find the next best option, whether that’s a nearby weekend or a weekday that still fits your vision.

Is it too soon to decide? If you’re newly engaged it can feel like a rush, but truthfully, booking your venue early helps everything else fall into place. Once your date and setting are arranged, the rest will start to come together naturally. You will then have time to breathe out and begin browsing inspiration posts and selecting other suppliers.
